MARCH : SPIDEY MEETS SUPERMAN AND MORE . . .

25-02-26 | Want something different, but not too different? These highlights from march ’26 might hit the spot! This month will be filled with nostalgia. The return of Lobo, the rerelease of vintage Batman and another bonkers entry in the Godzilla series. Not to mention another Marvel + DC team-up. Have those crossover lost their magic? Perhaps, but who cares. See you next month, folks!

SHAMAN KANE #1
Antarctic Press launches a mini-series starring intergalactic bounty hunter Shaman Kane. The character first appeared in a self-published series from creator David Broughton and has recently made a splash within the pages of anthology Planet Comics. Is Shaman Kane about to hit the big time?

OCTAVIA #1
Don’t dismiss this title as being another Vampirella rip-off. Octavia, who debuted in 2003, may not be wholly original. But the stories and in particular artwork by Mike Hoffman are superb. Octavia effortlessly invokes the spirit of Frank Frazetta. Recommended for fans of vintage comics and horror.

DICK TRACY ST. PATRICK’S DAY SPECIAL #1
Now here’s a fun little special of a different kind. Following loads of Christmas and Halloween tie-ins, ace detective Dick Tracy hunts down a masked vigilante during the St. Paddy’s Day celebrations. Another fun title by the Mad Cave Studios gang, whose reboot of Dick Tracy has real momentum.

BATWOMAN #1
DC Comics now introduces the Next Level series. This range focusses on the raw and edgy outsiders that dwell within the DC Universe. A great excuses to relaunch Batwoman! The weight of a doomsday prophecy threatens to topple poor Batwoman, who has to face both her inner and outer demons.

GODZILLA VS. AMERICA: PORTLAND #1
This is truly the golden age of Godzilla comics. This time the lurching lizard takes on the mayor cities of the US. See Godzilla stomp Los Angeles and Chicago to a pulp! Portland, sanctuary of weirdos like us, has to be my favourite title. Yes folks, it’s hipsters vs. Kaiju! Read comics and keep Portland weird!

ELSEWORLDS: BATMAN OMNIBUS – collected edition
Holy Hardcover! How epic is this?! DC collects … wait for it … TWENTY ONE different incarnations of the Batman in one volume! The Elseworlds label allowed artists to experiment with different takes on the Dark Knight. Includes essential classics from the 1990s such as Gotham by Gaslight and Bloodstorm.

LOBO #1
DC Comics relaunches their 1990s bad ass ahead of his cinematic debut in Supergirl. And this time he faces the man. The corporate world tries to buy Lobo and his fellow bounty hunters. But Lobo won’t be tamed this easily! It’s another tough as nails, pedal to the metal entry in the DC Next Level series.

SUPERMAN / SPIDER-MAN
Crossovers between Marvel and DC are not nearly as rare as they used to be. And yet who can say no to journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker teaming up? Their alter egos were, after all, the first heroes to crossover way back in ‘76. Celebrate five decades of Marvel/DC teamwork with this fun anthology!

BONUS : THE SECRET OF DRAGONWELT
And in case the news hasn’t reached you: Peter Pan Comics recently released its first videogame! The Secret of Dragonwelt deals with Prince Abel, a young hero who sets out to destroy the evil dragon Verdugo and save Princess Wicca. A classic point-and-click adventure which is free to play on Itch.io!
