18-02-24 | Greetings my friends! Next week Peter Pan Comics will be one year old. Since its launch I’ve published over 140 pages of webcomics. Some of those turned out incredibly well, some I’m not so keen on, but all of them have something to offer. Writing silly little adventure stories for strangers on the internet these past twelve months has been incredible. And I can’t wait to see what my second year as a webmaster will bring me.

Despite my eagerness to take Peter Pan Comics to the next level, there will have to be quite a few changes to the formula. As some of you will have noticed I’ve been slowing down these past couple of months. I’ve been ridiculously busy at work, moving house and keeping up with writing those pesky news items.

You see, what I’ve found is that I’m perfectly capable at running a website that is current and keeps you posted on the latest news within the pop culture community. But it has gobbled up so much of my time that there was hardly any left to write and produce comics. Which was the reason I launched the website in the first place! I have therefore decided to streamline the website, so that storytelling becomes my priority once more.

But enough of that. Let’s cut the chatter and delve straight into what I intend to change for the better in the second year of Peter Pan Comics.

Comics
When it comes to webcomics, it’s the humour titles that have the biggest presence and impact online. Now I’m not one to follow trends for the sake of views and hits. But I have to admit that the majority of webcomics I follow are not adventure serials, but rather brief cartoons. I have therefore decided to start experimenting with four panel comedic webcomics. The Pip & Jane Adventures will be the first new range to follow this formula.

Quite a lot of my followers stick to social media and don’t visit the website. Shorter comics will enable me to bring storytelling to my social channels. I intend to continue publishing serials, but these too (like The Exterminator) will likely focus on laughs rather than fantasy. At some point I might very well switch back to long form storytelling. I’m gagging to adapt some Jules Verne stories, for example. But for the coming months my webcomics will be short and sweet!

News
Keeping up with the latest gossip and announcements was loads of fun. And though I wish I could continue to provide you with the latest news, storytelling must come first. So instead, I’ve decided to focus on upcoming comic books and provide the readers with weekly recommendations. I’ll be posting a brief list of notable new titles which might interest you every Tuesday. On Thursdays I’ll spotlight one of those comics, provided it doesn’t interfere with writing webcomics.

Articles
Researching in-depth articles is so much fun! I’ve loved delving into the world of Fortnite comics, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire and all the others. These articles will continue to appear on the website, hopefully I’ll be able to manage one each month. I’m currently reading quite a few classics as well as biographies of notable artists. Plenty of inspiration, which I intend to utilize!

Cosplay
You don’t mess with a winning formula! My cosplay models will continue to appear on a weekly basis. Kitty Cosplay and myself will soon be traveling to Elfia once more, followed by brand new photosets featuring Kitty in countless nerdy cosplays.

Others
Though I’ve considered scaling back the presence of vintage comics, I love the classics too much to get rid of them entirely. I’ll be posting new genres soon. My personal columns will also continue to appear, though I really should post them more regularly. I detest anonymous websites, which is why adding a personal stamp to Peter Pan Comics is so important to me. Trailers and Review Round-ups will not be returning.

In a nutshell: my webcomics will be reformatted to be shorter and more comedic in nature, the news section will be scaled back and focus solely on current comic books, the articles and cosplay models will continue to be published as before. Plenty of reasons to continue following Peter Pan Comics!

2023 has been an incredible year for me. And it was all because of you. Thank you for being loyalty to my rinky-dink website and for your continued trust in my offbeat sense of creativity. Amen.
