Quite a few adventures in books, comics and films see James Bond abandoning the secret service, but always for the greater good. Agent of Spectre find him flirting with evil for the first time. An innovative and fascinating take on the iconic character.Talking to James Bond Radio, writer Christos Gage posed the question: ‘If you walk among monsters, can you do that without becoming one yourself?’. A theme he explores with the aid of Luca Casalanguida, who previously illustrated James Bond comics The Body and Kill Chain. Casalanguida really captures the essence of James Bond, effortlessly invoking the spirit of Sean Connery’s films without duplicating them. James Bond: Agent of Spectre is available next week.
