All will be revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man #21, which will be available march 8th. The upcoming storyline is part of the series ambitious relaunch in 2022.
Marvel revived The Amazing Spider-Man last year as part of Spidey’s 60th anniversary celebration. A key part of this series is the fall out between Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, his definitive love interest since 1967. The cover of The Amazing Spider-Man #2 depicted a couple in conflict. Now, a year later, the two of them appear huddled together on the cover of issue 21.
So what has changed? Is this a happy reunion? Or are things about to get darker still? Writer Zeb Wells teases the readers: ‘We know how much Peter and MJ care about each other, so for them to be torn apart we know something BIG happened. My hope is that it’s surprising, but understandable. We put him in a tough spot and hopefully readers will be asking what they would have done in that situation.’
