His heightened abilities and impressive arsenal of weaponry make him the perfect colleague for fan favourite Judge Dredd. Both Judge Dredd and Strontium Dog are regular features of the landmark British magazine 2000 AD, know for bringing international attention to talent like Alan Moore, Grant Morrison and Garth Ennis.
Ennis, best known as the creator of Preacher and The Boys, is also responsible for writing Judgment Day, with artwork by Carlos Ezquerra and Dean Ormston. Another gritty instalment in the Essential Judge Dredd series of collected editions. Previous editions include Necropolis, in which Judge Dredd is banished to the desolate wastelands of Cursed Earth and Origins, which reveals the character’s darkest secrets.
