25-03-23 | As the Flash bolt’s towards his 800th issue and (arguably) his very first feature film, DC Comics reunites Barry Allen with every Flash incarnation under the sun! DC began it’s ambitious story arc, the One-Minute War, in issue 790 of The Flash. Over the past couple of episodes, Barry Allen has overseen the Flash Family’s battle against the forces of evil. And now it’s finally coming to an end.
‘It’s the final moments of the One-Minute War –’ teases DC Comics. ‘– Cornered by the evil Admiral Vel, the Flash family is on the edge of defeat, but some surprising allies give the speedsters one last chance to change the outcome of the war once and for all!’ The Flash #796 will be on sale next week. The perfect opportunity to catch up with the Flash Family … or is it?
In the cinema, Flash is being overshadowed by Batman. On television, The Flash comes to an end after nine successful seasons. And in speciality stores it takes seven incarnations of the Flash to sell a comic book. Is Flash hitting an all-time high, or is the classic character in trouble? A sleek superhero like the Flash shouldn’t be dependent on Michael Keaton to sell tickets. Perhaps the upcoming 800th issue holds the key to a bright future for Barry Allen. He certainly deserves it.
