Superboy: Man of Tomorrow is the 2022 winner of DC Comics Round Robin competition. Each year DC publishes a special standalone comic featuring pitches for potential DC titles. The readers voted for Superboy’s story to be developed into a fully fledged series. The tale, by Jahnoy Lindsay and Kenny Porter, will escalate in issue 2 in which Conner Kent ‘is captured by the young space-adventuring team the Cosmoteers! On a mission to stop Dominator X, these former experiments believe Superboy is just another weapon created by the cloning mad scientist.’
Superboy was conceived in the wake of Superman’s death in the landmark series Reign of the Supermen in 1993. The story arc pitted several potential replacements for Superman against each other. This new edgy interpretation of Superboy was instantly popular, as was Steel who debuted in the same series.
